Project C.U.R.E. is an organization that identifies, solicits, collects, sorts, and distributes donated medical supplies and services to meet the urgent healthcare needs around the world. Founded in 1987, Project C.U.R.E. was established to address the critical shortage of medical resources globally, striving to improve healthcare outcomes in underserved regions.
At the beginning of March, Stax.AI had the privilege of sending seven employees to volunteer at the Tempe distribution center. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a large facility filled with boxes, crates, medical equipment, and various supplies. Our task for the day was to sort through several pallets stacked high with boxes filled with an assortment of donated medical supplies.
As we carefully reviewed each box, we ensured that the supplies were unused and unopened, while also verifying that the expiration dates were within acceptable ranges. It was surprising to learn just how crucial expiration dates are for medical supplies—Project C.U.R.E. only ships out supplies that are still viable and will truly make a difference in the communities receiving them.

Though our team was there for just a few hours, we were able to sort a significant amount of materials. The experience left a lasting impression on all of us, and many of our employees expressed a desire to return and continue supporting this important cause.
On our drive back, carpooling with several team members, we reflected on the experience and shared our thoughts. First and foremost, we were reminded of how fortunate we are to have access to high-quality medical supplies at our fingertips. The wide variety of medical tools, devices, and medications we encountered made us appreciate the sophistication and efficiency of the healthcare system in the U.S.
It also deepened our empathy for the many countries where access to life-saving medical supplies is limited or unavailable. The thought of not having the right supplies in the event of a medical emergency was eye-opening, and it made us feel deeply for those in less fortunate situations.
“Volunteering at Project C.U.R.E. with my coworkers was an incredible experience! It was amazing to come together as a team to make a real impact—packing life-saving medical supplies and knowing they’ll help communities in need around the world. The energy, teamwork, and sense of purpose made it such a meaningful and memorable day!”Anita Brown
Lastly, we were reminded of the generosity and compassion that exist within our country. We were impressed by the medical companies that donate their excess supplies to Project C.U.R.E., rather than discarding them. It's a testament to how people and organizations can come together to make a difference. It was inspiring to witness how many individuals volunteer their time to organize these donations and contribute to this vital cause.
“Seeing firsthand how Project C.U.R.E. helps people worldwide really drives home how connected we all are. Taking a break from the daily grind to focus on health, gratitude, and serving others? That's not a distraction, it’s what keeps us in tune with each other.”Nick Smith
This experience was a powerful reminder of the kindness that exists in the world—and the need for more companies and individuals to join in supporting initiatives like Project C.U.R.E. to improve global healthcare.
